This article will give you a brief overview on creating templates. Your first template will typically be your hardest one because everything is new to you. As you navigate through the app, you’ll find that creating templates is pretty easy and goes fairly quickly if you have a design already in mind.
To create a template, be sure that you are in the design area and click File > New.
You’ll see a modal popup with different options that you can select depending on the type of template you want to create. Choose the template type that you want to create.
Next, depending on which type of template you selected, you’ll be asked to enter some details for the template like the width and height. If you selected Geofilter as the template type, there will be no other options. You’ll notice a new geofilter template created. Geofilters have dimensions of 1080px x 1920px.
Now that you have a blank canvas on the screen it’s time to add some text, elements, or a background to it. Click the pane for the type of object that you’d like to add to the template. Click the appropriate object to add it to the canvas.
Once you’ve added objects to the canvas, you can click the object to manipulate it. Once you click an object, a toolbar will be shown at the top that will give you all kinds of options for manipulating the object.
When you are ready to save the template, click File > Save. You’ll be required to add tags and a name for your template. The tags are for your use to later help you search for the template in the templates pane. Use as many tags as you need to describe the template so you can find it later by searching any one of those tags. Enter a name for the template. Your customer will see the name of the template after purchasing so be sure it makes sense. Keep in mind, the canvas you have selected when saving is the canvas that will be shown in the thumbnail image for that template.
That’s all there is to creating templates with Templett.
