Sometimes you'll want to give customers access to certain elements they can use in a template, but those specific elements won't be included in your design.
For example, let’s say you create a mermaid birthday invitation. You use a mermaid element that has red hair, but you want to offer multiple styles of mermaids with different hair types and colors. You won’t include them all in your design, but you want the customer to have the freedom to customize it themselves.
Why assign elements to a template?
This is a great option for place card templates. Imagine you have a place card template with food options. You want to give your customer the ability to add different food option SVG icons to each place card (depending on the guest's choice). This is very easy to do with the Template Elements feature. With this feature, your customer will see the assigned elements directly in their Elements pane when they open that template. They simply need to click the element to add it to their design.
Template Elements will only be shown in the Elements pane when the corresponding template is open. They won’t have access to these specific elements for use in other templates in their account.
Previously, sellers would create a new template with all the elements that the customer could use, requiring them to copy and paste those into their actual design. This was not a great user experience. In fact, it was frustrating. If you were doing this, please switch to using Template Elements instead—your customers will thank you for the smoother editing experience.
