What the Customer Sees
When a user is editing their template, there is a help area that they can click (top right) to get some general information to help them understand how to perform common tasks. To give them even more specific help, you can create detailed instructions for each of your templates.
For all of your templates, that have instructions assigned to them, a button will be shown in the help area that reads: “Seller Instructions” as well as a link when the user hovers over the template thumbnail. When the user clicks this button, a window will appear over the page where they can read and scroll through the instructions. If there aren’t any instructions assigned to the current open template, the button will not be shown.
How to Create New Instructions
- Navigate to the Admin area, click "Assets" on the left hand side, then click "Instructions"
- Click “Add Instructions" (the blue button at the top right)
- Enter a title, add text for the instructions and any photos, videos or links you feel would be helpful to the user.
- Save
You can make these as simple or detailed as you want and make as many as you need.
Please Note: We don't recommend showing customers how to use Templett (leave that to us) but instead, create instructions for your specific template. For example, how to add pages if you've created a flag banner or place cards.
How to Assign Instructions to a Template
In order for your instructions to show up when a template is open, you’ll need to assign those instructions to the template. Follow the directions below.
Navigate to the admin area and click on “Assets” from the left side.
- Click “Templates” and go to the “Details” for the template that you want to assign instructions to.
- In the template Details Modal, which is a button that looks like a magnifying glass, select the instructions from the Instructions box.
- Save
Please Note: You’ll need to create your instructions first, then assign it to a template or to multiple templates. You can assign a single instructions file to as many templates as you’d like.
If you’d like the instructions to show up when the template is first opened, you need to turn the option on in your settings. Follow the instructions below:
Go to “settings” on the left side of the admin area and select “main settings” (The button will turn blue once it has been turned on.) Keep in mind, this will only open the instructions the first time the customer opens the template. The customers can get to the instructions after that by clicking the overlay in the template thumbnail or by selecting the instructions button from the help menu, after the template is open.
